Fan Page is launched by Facebook earlier this month. Fan Pages on facebook offer useful tools for analysis and profiling of the fans. Facebook Insights shows demographic details and interactions on your pages but limited to show information of fans only. It is far less sophisticated and comprehensive when compared to the free Google Analytics.
Many of you have tried to insert the code into a Analytics Box and found that it is inevitably filtered and removed, like the FBML tag that it works only on specific applications.
But there are some who have found a solution for this too like Webdigi by using a Dynamic PAGE which draws directly to Google servers and passes the data to be analyzed, instead of the usual JavaScript code.
So the process is explained below which is very simple:
First we set the code:
- Create a new account on Google Analytics (or call it facebook.com / the page).
- Take note of the identification code tracer (and that the format UA-1111111-1).
- Now you can create your image, by filling out the form directly to this link, which will generate the HTML code to insert.
2. Enter the code on the Fan Page
Now we have to insert the code. The only way is to put it in a box:
- Go to the page in the Facebook Static FBML.
- Click on “Add to my page.”
- Click on “Add to page”, next to the page where you want to add the code.
- Click “Close.”
- Return to your page and click on “Edit Page”.
- Click on “Edit” in the box titled “FBML 1.
- Give the title that will have your box.
- In the “FBML” enter HTML code that you generated earlier.
- Click “Save Changes”.
- Go to the tab “Frames” of your page.
- Locate the new box you created and click on the pencil icon in the upper right of it.
- Click on “Move tab in Dashboard.”
Perfect, at this point you enter the box with the image (invisible because large 1 × 1 px) to the dashboard of your page: all accesses are mapped!
Alternatively, if you do not trust this external service, you can download the files and install them directly on your server.
3. Enter the code on your private profile
I tested everything and I must say that it works fine.
